Hi everyone, I just wanted to share a little of my journey in case it helps another mom (or dad!) out there.

I’m Anita, a single mom to a beautiful, wild 11-month-old named Maya. 💕 Like most new parents, I was overwhelmed when preparing for her arrival—especially on a tight budget. Between trying to work, nest, and stay sane, I had no idea how much baby gear I really needed... and how much of it would only be useful for a few months.

I’ll be honest: I don’t have a ton of storage space or money to spare. So when a friend suggested renting some baby gear instead of buying it all,

I was sceptical—but curious. I decided to try it out, starting with a bassinet and baby swing.

LIFE CHANGER

Here’s what I’ve rented over the past year:

• A bassinet (used it for 4 months, then returned it when she outgrew it)

• A high-end baby swing that I never could have afforded otherwise

• A travel stroller for a weekend trip to see my sister

• A high chair for when Maya started solids

• Age-appropriate toys that rotate every month (no more toy clutter!!)

• And most recently… a car seat for a week-long vacation (no dragging mine through the airport!)

Everything was clean, safe, and delivered to my door. Some companies even set it up for you.

It’s saved me hundreds of dollars and so much space in my apartment. And best of all, I don’t feel guilty or wasteful when Maya outgrows something after a few weeks.

For any other single parents out there feeling stretched thin: renting baby gear gave me a bit of breathing room, financially and mentally. I wish more people talked about this option—it’s a total game changer.

If you’ve been on the fence, I say try it. You don’t have to commit to renting everything—even picking a few key items can make a huge difference.
